AI & Skills
Install the Pubto Skill once, then ask Codex, Claude Code, OpenCode, Gemini CLI, pi, or Grok CLI to publish a local project, service, file, or folder.
Before you begin
You need a supported coding agent and a Pubto account. The Skill is installed into that agent's normal user Skill directory; the Desktop app supplies the local publisher when a command needs access to your computer.
Shortest path
Install or update the official Pubto Skill from https://github.com/vertex-ai-llc/pubto-skill1. Paste the install request
Copy the install prompt shown on the With AI page or Downloads page and paste it into your agent. Use the agent's native Skill or command installer so it writes to the standard configuration directory.
2. Install the local publisher
When the agent first needs to publish a local target, install the official Pubto Desktop app from Downloads. Desktop bundles the matching Pubto command and local Agent. Sign in there before publishing.
3. Ask the agent to publish
Use a direct request such as 'Publish localhost:3000 for 30 minutes' or 'Share ./deck.pdf with a password until 8pm.' The agent selects the requested target, shows the command it will run, and returns the public address.
4. Stop when finished
Use the agent or Desktop to stop or delete the endpoint after the review. Every publication can have its own expiry, password, protocol, and usage limits.
Before you share
- The Skill appears in the agent's installed Skills
- Pubto Desktop is installed and signed in before the first local publish
- The request names one target and an expiry
- The returned link or tcp address works for the intended recipient
- The endpoint is stopped or allowed to expire after use
The Skill does not replace your agent's permissions or your service authentication. It only connects the agent to the local Pubto tools and asks before sensitive targets such as databases, SSH, or LAN services.
